History
is our foundation

Who we are
Ilektra Lamprianidou is continuing as the sole ambassador of a family with a 50-year history in the poultry sector, having already acquired an experience of 14 years and counting in poultry production. Henceforth, Ilektrofarma is the handling and tradingbusiness she has added to the family history; the live coordinator of offer and demand in the field of broiler hatching eggs and broiler chicks. Ilektra’s expertise in meeting the highest quality of livestock production performance standards and matching them with the constantly evolving state of the global hatching egg market, has led to a fruitful endeavour that is constantly growing.
Later on, his daughter Helen Koutsou expanded the business to the next level during the 1990s and 2000s, by building a modern hatchery in place of the existing 1950s
hatchery, with all the state-of-the-art. Thus, the hatchery reached the capacity of 500.000 eggs per setting. Within close proximity of the hatchery was built a group of buildings for the rearing and the productive stage of broiler breeder hens, aiming to hold a total of 125.000 hens. This was meant to set a model for the contemporary integrated poultry businesses in Greece.

Ilektrofarma is a trading and handling company that was founded by a member of the third generation of a family that played a crucial role in the evolution of modern poultry in Greece. Ιn the late 1950s grandfather Athanasios Koutsos was the brain and main shareholder of the two family businesses: Koutsos-Tzotzas; a hatchery with its broiler breeder farms, and later on Freshkot SA; a 1970s slaughterhouse fit for the ever-growing demands of the modern world for poultry meat.
